A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

projectFLY use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps the management of projectFLY analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to our pilots needs. projectFLY only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help projectFLY provide pilots with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages pilots find useful and which they do not. A cookie in no way gives projectFLY access to pilots personal computers or any information about them, other than the data pilots choose to share with projectFLY.

Pilots can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but browser settings can be modified to decline cookies if pilots prefer. This may prevent pilots from taking full advantage of the website.

Your full name is passed to VATSIM when you ‘pre-file’ a flightplan through our dispatcher service. This is so we can automatically populate the full name field to allow you to seamlessly file a flight plan. Your booking/flight data will also be passed to populate the flight information fields. If you wish for this not to occur, do not select the ‘pre-file with VATSIM’ option in the dispatcher.

Your phone number, country and e-mail address are passed to Authy when you setup two-factor authentication. This allows Authy to automatically link an existing Authy account to projectFLY, and to provide two-factor authentication functionality when logging into projectFLY. If you do not wish for this to occur, do not setup two-factor authentication.

As detailed above, your payment details will be passed on to Braintree to process your payment. Details are not retained by us. For further information please refer to Braintree’s privacy policy.

Your full name is passed to SimBrief when you dispatch a flightplan using SimBrief. This is so your name will appear on the generated briefing. If you do not wish for this to occur, do not dispatch a flight using SimBrief.
